You don’t need to be a professional copywriter or have a huge vocabulary in order to write a good sales letter. If it’s your first time to write one, all you need to exert is a bit of time and effort and you’ll sure to produce a good sales letter in no time.

A Good Sales Letter is Easy on the Eye.

Whether it’s an email or an actual letter, reading it must not be difficult for anyone with relatively good eyesight. Firstly, the font size must be at least 11 but no greater than 13 because anything more would take up too much space. Use special fonts only for emphasizing certain points but the main body of your content must still be written in easily understandable font like Times New Roman or Arial.

Choice of colors is also important. Use dark ink for light backgrounds and vice versa. For more details www.private-labels-empire.com This may seem like common sense stuff, but you’d be surprised to know just how many people have continuously violated this rule!

A Good Sales Letter is of Appropriate Length.

There are unwritten rules regarding the appropriate length for sales letters, and they depend on factors like the number of times you’ve already corresponded with your recipient, the objectives of your sales letter, and so forth. In most cases, nothing more than a one-pager is a must if it’s your first time to contact a prospective customer. You could definitely write more if your reader has indicated an interest in receiving more news and updates from you in the future, but just how much will again depend on what you’re talking about and how well you know your target readers.

A Good Sales Letter Does Not Beat around the Bush.

It will always have a few lines dedicated to showing courtesy and appreciation towards the reader, but it will afterwards mince no words in saying what it has to say. If it has a buy-one-take-two offer in mind, the sales letter must state this directly. Time is a precious commodity, and a reader will appreciate it if you show your understanding of this concept by writing only what you have to write.

A Good Sales Letter Has a Personalized Touch.

Readers often like it better when the letter is directly addressed to them and most especially when they are old or existing customers already. Addressing the letter directly in their names make them feel special and appreciated. And you can validate this feeling by signing the letter at the end with your own name or the highest official in your company.

A Good Sales Letter Acknowledges the Competition and Defends its Position

Good sales letters are not written by people who prefer to bury their heads in the sand. These people are aware that whatever they’re offering, rival companies surely have something to counter with as well, and they don’t hesitate to acknowledge this. Rather than pretend that their readers would not be aware or interested in the counter offers of other companies, these writers address these issues directly and defend their products and services to the best of their ability. Simply put a good sales letter shows why you still have to choose the products and services it’s offering over others! For more details www.web-sales-letter-supreme.com

A Good Sales Letter is Not All Talk!

Good sales letters are not all talk. If you’ve got claims to make, you better make sure you can support them with solid facts and figures that are certified by valid and reliable authorities. A good sales letter gives readers a reason to believe in them!

A Good Sales Letter Gives You the Chance to Opt Out

Lastly, a good sales letter always offers you the chance to NOT receive other similar updates in the future. This may seem a disadvantage at the start, but it actually proves you’re confident your reader won’t opt out. It’s reverse psychology in a way!

No matter how good a sales letter you have, remember that writing it will do you no good if in the end, it doesn’t fit the needs of your target market. A good sales letter will always need the things listed in here, but it has to be somewhat customized according to your target market’s preferences. What those are will, of course, depend if you’ve already correctly identified who your best customers are in the first place!

Videoblogging is the next generation of posting ideas and products over the internet. Everybody knows about textblogging. Now they use videos for a better way of expression. This form of communication may entail a lot of resources, but it is all worth it. If pictures say a thousand words, videoblogging exceeds that by far.

A videoblog requires larger disk spaces on websites, a faster server, and a whole new set of programs to support it. Videoblogs can be fed through RSS. This is technology of syndicating your website to other RSS aggregators.

Videoblogging works with people on the internet expressing their selves. Now if you put this on a business prospective, you are up to a lot of benefits. Think of it as a powerful tool in making showing your prospective customers your line of products or your services. It’s just like showing a commercial all for free. And if you videoblog through RSS, then most probably you are getting your target market.

People like to see what they are going to buy. Some would like to see proof and be sure that they are getting their money’s worth before shelving their dimes on it. All of us know the influence of a thirty second commercial. The effect of videoblogging is similar to that. You show your product, people watch it. If they like it, they buy it. If you present it good enough, they’ll buy the product even if they don’t need it.

Now on the web, things are pretty much static, unlike in television in which all are moving. If you post something that is mobile, it would most likely catch attention. Now imaging your product parading in all it’s royalty through videoblog. You’ll get phone call orders in no time.

If your business is just starting up, you can create a videoblog right at your own home. All you need is your web camera, microphone, video software, and lights. For as long as you know how to use your camera, then you can create a videoblog.

Invest in a good web camera. The higher its resolution is the better the output. And you like to present your goods in the optimum way so get the best one possible. Make a short story, or just capture your goods in one go. Just make sure you are getting the best profile for each. Get those creativity juices flowing.

Lights are important in a production. Make sure you illuminate entirely the area you are going to use to create videoblog. The brighter the area, the crispier the images will be. You can also use lighting effects for added appeal to the presentation.

Should you require sounds for your videoblog, you need a microphone. Record you voice as a voice over for promoting the product and its benefit to consumers. Sounds are as important as videos on a videoblog. It is advisable to make your sound effects as enticing as the video.

Your video editing software can be any program. You need this to finalize your work. You can add sounds, delete some bad angles, or insert some still pictures in there too. Some programs are user-friendly and can be used even with zero knowledge on video editing. Even simple video editing programs should do the trick. Select your background carefully too. The light affects the presentation so make sure that the background and the light complements each other.

Videoblogging is a great tool but it also has it downside. It may slow down the computer so other may steer clear of it. Download time may also be time consuming especially if customer is still on a dial- up connection.

But don’t let those stop you. Let videoblogging be an alternative for you, though it is best to still keep the text and pictures present in your presentation to accommodate all possible viewers of your site.

Nowadays, the more creative you are in presenting your product to the market, they more you are likely to succeed. Videoblogging offers an interactive way of selling. You involve the customers. You instill in them the advantage of your goods. And at times, those are enough to make a sale.

RSS is fast replacing email marketing and newsletters. You would not want to be left behind would you? Your competitor will surely overtake you and speed right up. RSS is mostly called Really Simple Syndication, although some give other meaning to the acronym. It is a process by which you could place a feed on websites that can read RSS from your directory.

Information distribution has been made simply by RSS. Simply put, with RSS, you can place your headline to other website for more people to see it. In marketing, it is a known concept that the more people you reaches to, the more likely that your product will sell.

RSS is an XML-based application. XML is similar in a way to HTML, which we all know is the most common website creator application. From a directory, it would feed the headlines into website that has an RSS reader. Creating an RSS feed would definitely boost up your sales. How can you make an RSS feed? Just follow these simple steps:

1. Create a file for your feed.

Using a certain format, you’d have to create the XML version of your feed. It should include the title or the headline, the body’s short description, and the link where it can be read. There are a lot of different RSS web channel editor you can use for this. Some programs just require you to write news and articles down on a notepad and when placed on the editor, it will show up with the necessary formatting ready for upload. It would be advisable to make at least ten articles for your feed.

2. Save and Upload the file.

After creating your file, save your work as an XML, RSS, or an RDF file. Then you are now ready to upload it. Upload the file using your FTP program and place it on your web server. This process now makes the file readable by RSS news aggregators.

3. Validate the file.

Make your RSS program error-free. RSS is programming, so errors could lie unseen. Again, there are different programs that can assist you for this process. You would just need to place the saved and uploaded RSS file for the program to test it against wrong and missed code and tags. It is essential for you to check your work of course. This way, you’re sure that what you have is readable and usable.

4. Create a directory.

Now that you have created the file, saved it, and made sure it works, you are ready to let other see it. The main purpose of an RSS feed is to broadcast it to all RSS enabled sites. So go ahead and look for a directory where you can place your feed. Some may require fees for uploading a directory. Some offer it for free. Scout around and round up all the free sites you can have and place it there. If you have some marketing budget, you might want to subscribe to sites that charge a minimal amount. Don’t forget to place an icon of your RSS feed on your website, too for those people who visits you directly.

5. Update regularly.

With RSS, you know that the feed changes automatically every time you change the main file. Don’t let your RSS feed sit there for a month without modifying it. Maintain it. Add new articles. The more exciting your topic is, the more people will check your feeds and visit your website.

Creating an RSS feed for Internet marketing is made very simple now a days. Even people who are not computer savvy can create RSS feeds, based on the steps provided above. The applications that were created for RSS creation are the ones that make it easy for everyday computer users to make an RSS feed. All you need is familiarization with the process.

Start now creating RSS feeds. Give your competitor something fierce to duel with. Needless to say, RSS feeds give your website more traffic than usual web hosting. And web traffic means more people seeing your products that could be interested in buying them. Add strength to your marketing strategy. Make RSS feeds and be ready to sell.

You probably have seen this three-letter acronym called RSS in the course of your internet surfing.

You probably have seen this three-letter acronym called RSS in the course of your internet surfing. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary; syndicating means republishing an article that comes from another source such as a website.

An RSS is a means of publicizing updates about websites. It may or may not include a summary and photos of the latest posting. But those that provide summaries (thus Rich Site Summary) allow users to skim through the article so that they could decide later on if they want to access the website source. The RSS feed usually contains the title of the update originating from the website. It is also usually the link to the website source.

What are the benefits of RSS? RSS gives benefits to both readers (users) and web publishers.

1. It gives you the latest updates.
Whether it is about the weather, new music, software upgrade, local news, or a new posting from a rarely-updates site learn about the latest as soon as it comes out.

2. It saves on surfing time.
Since an RSS feed provides a summary of the related article, it saves the user’s time by helping s/he decide on which items to prioritize when reading or browsing the net.

3. It gives the power of subscription to the user.
Users are given a free-hand on which websites to subscribe in their RSS aggregators which they can change at any time they decide differently.

4. It lessens the clutter in your inbox.
Although your email address will be required to enjoy the services of online RSS aggregators, RSS does not use your email address to send the updates.

5. It is spam free.
Unlike email subscriptions, RSS does not make use of your email address to send updates thus your privacy is kept safe from spam mails.

6. Unsubscribing is hassle-free.
Unlike email subscriptions where the user is asked questions on why s/he is unsubscribing and then the user would be asked to confirm unsubscribing, all you have to do is to delete the RSS feed from your aggregator.

7. It can be used as an advertising or marketing tool.
Users who subscribe or syndicate product websites receive the latest news on products and services without the website sending spam mail. This is advantageous to both the web user and the website owner since advertising becomes targeted; those who are actually interested in their products are kept posted.

What are the drawbacks of RSS? The disadvantages of RSS use are brought about by its being a new technology and some user-preference concerns.

1. Some users prefer receiving email updates over an RSS feed.

2. Graphics and photos do not appear in all RSS feeds.
For conciseness and ease of publication, RSS feeds do not display the photos from the original site in announcing the update except for some web-based aggregators

3. The identity of the source website can be confusing.
Since RSS feeds do not display the actual URL or name of the website, it can sometimes get confusing on what feed a user is actually reading.

4. Publishers cannot determine how many users are subscribed to their feed and the frequency of their visits. Moreover, they would not know the reasons why users unsubscribe which could be important in improving their advertising.

5. RSS feeds create higher traffic and demands on the server.
Most readers still prefer the whole update over a brief summary of the entry, thus they still access the site.

6. Since it is a new technology, many sites still do not support RSS.

How do I start using RSS?

There are two things needed: an RSS feed and an RSS aggregator or reader. The RSS feed comes from an RSS-supported website. There are also websites that provide a list of RSS feeds of different websites. An RSS aggregator is used to read the RSS feed from the source website. It scans and collects data on latest RSS feeds from the worldwide web.

An aggregator comes in two forms: a downloadable program also known as desktop aggregator and an online or web-based aggregator. Downloadable aggregators may require payment before they can be acquired, while internet-based aggregators are usually free of charge. All you need to do is to register an account then you are ready to use their services. Both versions allow you to customize or choose which RSS feeds to enter. Paid aggregators are usually chosen by more experienced users and they usually allow more freedom in customizing feeds.

1. Choose an RSS aggregator to use. For beginners, web-based aggregators are recommended since they are usually user-friendly

2. Scan the homepage of your target website for the RSS or XML button. It contains the RSS code you need to enter in the aggregator. Copy this code. Syndic8 provides a directory of websites that support RSS.

3. Paste the code (which contains the URL of the website) in your aggregator. There is a space provided for pasting the code.

After you have done these three easy steps, you can start reading the RSS feeds coming from the website. New postings appear as they are published real time at the source website.

RSS and Internet Marketing

The original idea of RSS came from Netscape, where their intention is to provide a means for users to customize their personal homepage to contain links to websites that interest them, similar to bookmarking websites.

The application of RSS to internet marketing was an unforeseen development to RSS technology developers. Since users are given the freedom to add RSS feeds to their aggregators, those who are interested in particular products and services available in the internet can now be notified real time. Marketing becomes more specific to interested people and not a hit-and-miss operation.

Those who intend to use RSS for marketing their products and services should consider linking up with email account providers, (e.g. Yahoo, MSN, Google mail); networking websites (e.g. Friendster, Multiply, My Space, Hi5); websites of newspapers and television network websites (e.g. New York Times, CNN) for medium to big-scale companies. Small-time industries can also look into networking websites as well as personal blog websites (e.g. Blogspot) and websites of clubs and organizations that would probably make use of their products or services e.g. a fishing supplies store can look for the website of their local fishing club for possible RSS marketing.

Clearly, RSS is an innovation in information management in the worldwide web as well as online marketing. We can expect better RSS technology in the not-so-distant future as its popularity increases among users and website owners alike.

I recently met with my friend Neil to discuss several business building strategies. I shared with him a tool that I use in my own business on a daily basis.

You can create this tool on your own, it’s super easy to use, and I guarantee it will help you grow your business exponentially.

The tool is a simple text document (I created mine in Microsoft Word) that you use to measure your daily KPIs. KPI stands for key performance indicator, and every business – even yours – has them.

The first step in creating your KPI measurement tool is to figure out what your Key Performance Indicators are – what activities do you do on a daily, weekly, monthly basis that directly contribute to the success of your business?

Some examples of KPIs might be the number of phone calls you make, the amount of time you spend networking, the number of presentations you deliver, the number of articles you distribute, etc.

Next, create a simple sheet where you can measure your performance in each of these areas. The document I created for myself is a single sheet of paper in landscape view (that’s the wide-way) divided in half so there are two columns.

In the first column, I measure Monday through Friday activities, and in the second column I measure weekly activities.

I cut the sheet in half (so each column became its own page) and took it to the local print shop. I had them make 52 copies of each page and turn the copies into a
notepad. (Most print shops or copy shops have this capability.) I can keep the notepad handy and use it on a daily basis.

Before making 52 copies and turning them into a notepad, you’ll want to spend some time testing out your Key Performance Indicators.

Your KPIs might not be immediately evident, and you might be wasting your time by measuring things that don’t really matter.

For instance, you might think that distributing press releases in an important KPI for your business. Test it out for a while. Send out press releases on a regular basis, measure your performance, and determine your results.

What has this activity done for you? Did you get more sales inquiries after sending press releases? How valuable were those inquiries? Will you be able to attribute an increase in the bottom line to sending out press releases? If so, then this activity is definitely a KPI.

But on the other hand, if you think adding a new article to your blog on a daily basis is an important Key Performance Indicator, try it out for a while. Write an article every day and track the results.

Did you add more prospect names to your database as a result of your articles? Did you see your sales increase? If not, this activity is probably not a KPI for your business, so there’s no point focusing on it
and measuring it.

After a few weeks, you’ll be able to figure out which activities are actually contributing to your progress. If you notice your sales increase as your networking
increases, then networking is definitely a KPI.

If the time spent on a certain activity varies but your sales remain stagnant, you’ll know that activity is not a KPI. It can be dumped from your list.

Once you’ve identified your KPIs and you’ve measured them for a set time, you’ll then have an awesome tool to plan for your sales growth. You’ll know exactly what to do in order to grow your business.

Let’s say you’ve identified “making prospect phone calls” as an important KPI. And in your measuring process, you’ve discovered that when you make 5 phone calls each day, you average $15,000 in sales for the week.

If you’d like to increase your progress to $30,000 in sales every week, you know you’ll need to make at least 10 phone calls.

Identifying your KPIs is the most important step in effectively using this tool. That step is extremely personal and will differ from business to business.

As a promotional tool to drive targeted traffic to your web site, article writing is considered one of the key tools that should be employed. The popularity of article writing and exchange has emerged as a convenient way for people to promote and get fresh content for their sites. This system works well because new articles are wanted by the search engines who are attempting to please their users. Most internet users consider the internet to be one huge database and the search engines also see it as a giant source of information. When you view the internet from the perspective of the search engine and it is wise to do so, then when an article is rewritten it automatically becomes unique.

Ultimately though, fresh articles are a good way forward if you enjoy writing but there are some ground rules worth remembering. Determine your topic first and then type in some keywords into a search engine, related to the subject and obtain enough information to write an article. Almost every piece of written work you read will have a beginning, middle and end so it would be wise to remember to structure your article in the same way and don’t try to re-invent the wheel. The structure is important but so is the length with most around 400 to 500 words with the conclusion about five sentences or so to summarize. Try not to write your article with long sections of text as people get bored as it can be quite hard on the eyes so break it up into useful paragraphs and finish with a resource box with your website link so you will get credit for your writing.

Not only is it enjoyable writing articles but if you get good you may well be asked to write them to advertise or promote other peoples websites and online businesses. It’s the first article that can be difficult to write so how do you start? Ideas can easily come from real life, for example, if you have a long and happy marriage, then write articles which help people with their relationships. If you would prefer not to write about your experiences, which would be a real waste, then why not write about smaller niche markets which can open up all manner of possibilities.

To become a good article writer you should employ good writing techniques. Writing on a daily basis will help achieve this because you will come across the same problems faced by every other regular writer but it will help you to improve. They say practice makes perfect and this is perfectly true with writing and not only that but it becomes easier. I cannot guarantee that this information will suit everyone but they are a set of guidelines to help you see that there is more to think about and involved if you intend to be a professional article writer.

As an eBay seller you will be relying heavily on customer feedback. If your customers are not coming back to buy from you, your customer service may be lacking. One of the best ways to be successful as an eBay seller is to increase the positive feedback that you get. The way to do that is to give great customer service.

If you are serious about selling on eBay you need to pay close attention to e-mails. If a buyer sends you an e-mail you need to answer it as soon as possible. While this may seem like a very simple thing it is easy to forget to respond or take a couple of days to get back to someone. If you do this, rest assured that buyers will not want to deal with you. When they are asked to rate you as a seller you will get negative feedback.

When someone buys something take the time to send a short thank you note. Yes, eBay will acknowledge when someone has won an item but buyers like to know that their particular order is important to you. A quick note thanking the customer and showing that you have recognized their purchase will help build trust and loyalty among customers.

Customers need to know when their items have been shipped. When people order form eBay they are usually anxiously awaiting whatever it is that they have purchased. It is nice to know that the item is on its way. The majority of sellers send some type of note, often an automatic one from UPS or the post office. This works well and will stop the customer form having to write to you and inquire about their purchase. If that happens you are going to get negative feedback. If buyers know that the item is coming and has a tracking number they will be happy with your service.

Be careful what you charge for shipping. Wile shipping is an expense you can not expect people to buy your items when you are overcharging for shipping. They will be able to find items that cost less. Sometimes you have to take the fall when it comes to shipping. Charge less and you will sell more items. That is the eBay trade off.

Take the time to neatly package the items that you sell. Waiting for an item to arrive in the mail only to find it hanging out of ripped and torn packaging is such a let down. Customers will notice annoying little things like that so make sure you put a little effort into wrapping you packages.

The competition on EBay is pretty tough. If you are not willing to put forth a little extra effort for your customers, you will not be very successful. Make sure that you have items that people are interested in, charge reasonable shipping and responds to customer when necessary. Pay attention to customer service and you will be able to generate repeat customers. These is the best way to build your eBay business.

Over the years, the internet has continued to evolve greatly. As more and more people become familiar with it, the internet is becoming overwhelmingly flooded with surfers. Not only this, but entrepreneurs are facing extreme competition in every niche imaginable. One way that you can separate yourself from the rest of the competition is to have your own small business blog.

Having a blog comes with a number of advantages. Not only will it benefit you, but it will benefit your business and web site as well. There are a number of ways you can go about promoting and marketing your web site, but creating a blog is certainly one of the top methods.

One of the best things about having a small business blog is the ability to interact with others online. You can lead the conversation and then sit back and hear what other people have to say. You would be amazed at how many ideas you can get from a simple blog topic. Do not be afraid to ask questions and learn from those who are posting on your blog either.

Another great thing about having a blog is it allows people to see the real you. Too often entrepreneurs get stuck behind the scenes with all of the responsibilities that come with running a small business. The problem with this is you lose the personal connection with your customers. Having a blog enables you to socialize and get to know those who are interested in what you have to offer.

The benefit of this is you can gain the trust of others. When people learn about you and find out you are truly looking to better them, they will come to appreciate this. The next time they have a question or are looking for a certain product, they will be much more likely to come to your site over a competitors.

If you truly want to have success with your small business blog and generate traffic to your web site, it is vital you make at least one post a day. What this does is create fresh content to get people to come back. There is far too much repetitive content on the internet. Having a blog gives you the opportunity to show what you know and keep things new and enticing.

There is a plethora of things you can do to better a home business. Of course the more marketing you do the better. But one method that often gets overlooked is starting a small business blog. And this is certainly one method that can do a lot of good for you, your web site, and your business as a whole.

If you work from home, chances are you already know that you’re really pulling “double duty”. You probably work on your business while doing the laundry, corralling the kids, or fixing dinner… and let’s not forget all the phone calls from family and friends expecting you to run errands or just “go out” for an afternoon of fun.

One of the hardest parts of running a home business is separating your work from your family and social life. Here are six proven ways to keep your home life running smoothly while keeping your business on track.

1. First, create a work schedule and stick with it. It may be tempting to answer personal calls during the day or take business calls after-hours, but doing this actually shows that you’re expendable – not dependable – and people will take for granted that you’ll “always be there” for any little things that come up. Even though family comes first, stay true to your business hours and resist the urge to chat with friends or pick up groceries during working hours.

2. Your friends may consider “working from home” an invitation to chat during the day or just go out for coffee or shopping for an afternoon. Make it clear that your business hours are just that – for business. Leave personal calls for after-hours, and you’ll find that your friends will gradually accept your schedule without feeling slighted.

3. Just because you have to set up a work schedule, doesn’t mean that you have to keep the same hours as everyone else. One of the benefits of working for yourself is setting your own hours to fit your most productive times. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, you’ll find that you’ll get much more done when you’re attuned to your body’s own natural rhythms. Some people work in the morning, take a break in the afternoon when the kids are home from school, and work again in the evening. Schedule your work time when you feel the most productive and you’ll find that things get done easier, faster and better than when you were dragging along during those same rigid work hours that everyone else has.

4. If getting after-hours business calls or work day personal calls is a problem, it helps to have a separate business phone line, or at least an answering machine or voice mail, to take the incoming calls. This also gives your business a more professional appearance to clients than if you and your family make and receive calls from the same phone line.

5. If at all possible, try to separate your “home office” from the rest of your home. If you don’t have the luxury of a separate room, a room partition or screen can be just as helpful. This also serves as a visual cue to family that you’re working and shouldn’t be bothered.

6. Dress and act professionally while working. Some people find it helpful to dress in casual business attire during their working hours. This reinforces that just because you’re working from home doesn’t make you any less of a professional. Answer the phone with your name, or business name, and keep your children off the phone during business hours. Also, spend money investing in the tools you need to do your job right. A cell phone, fax machine or even a budget computer can help turn your home office into a true workspace.

If you follow all of these tips and stick with them, chances are you’ll find a routine that not only makes you feel productive and active in your business, but also projects the message that you mean business – literally!
